ACTIVATING CULTURAL EMERGENCE CONFERENCE | Oakland, CA

January 26 - January 28

$295 - $395

Join Jon YoungLooby Macnamara and Starhawk for this pioneering conference to discover ways for positive cultural evolution. This is an exciting opportunity to learn and converse with the co-founders and collaborators of the Cultural Emergence project and to be part of the global activation of Cultural Emergence.

Key Takeaways

  • Through interactive, lively and participatory processes you will become familiar with the practices of Cultural Emergence.
  • Contribute to the ongoing, evolving, global conversation
  • We will look at the many levels of culture,  through our own personal cultural  patterns of being, to the global context.
  • You will have the opportunity to consider and clarify your contribution to the world and empower yourself to keep to your true path in life.

Who is it for?

No prior knowledge of permaculture or 8 Shields work is required. This course is particularly aimed at:

  1. Those working towards a holistic sustainable vision for humanity
  2. 8 Shields practitioners, village builders and community facilitators
  3. People wanting a deeper grounding in skills and principles that support healthy relationships
  4. People involved in creating healthy communities through Transition initiatives and other community projects.
  5. Permaculturists wanting to increase their knowledge or specialize in people permaculture (personal and social permaculture)
  6. People interested in supporting nature connection practices

The Conference

One of the biggest challenges of working with “Invisible Structures” is that they are invisible. That does not mean that they are ineffective or unimportant–quite the contrary. The success of any project is not measured only by the physical and visible outcomes, but by the social capital built through positive relationships. There’s an art to this.

Through interactive, lively and participatory processes you will become familiar with the practices of Cultural Emergence. You will learn how to use them in your own lives to become more intentional in making your relationships kinder, more connected and truly regenerative.

You will be invited to contribute to the ongoing, evolving, global conversation of how we can use Cultural Emergence to manifest action and momentum in enhancing positive connections for individuals, families, groups and communities of all types. The collective wisdom of the group will be harvested to further the development and effectiveness of this inspirational toolkit.

We will look at the many levels of culture, right through from our own personal culture and patterns of being, to the global context.  We will share tools and processes for ways of being, thinking and seeing differently that enable breakthroughs to occur. Inviting what may previously seem impossible to become possible through collaboration, co-creation and emergence.

People will be invited to nurture the visions they hold for themselves, their communities and the world. You will have the opportunity to consider and clarify your contribution to the world and empower yourself to keep to your true path in life.
