Magical Activism Session 1: Let’s Talk About the Real Witch-Hunts! | Online

Brigid—the Celtic Feast of Fire and Water.

This year it coincides with the Iowa caucuses and the ending of the impeachment non-trial. Spring is coming—but it can be hard to maintain a sense of hope and optimism when the political weather is so gloomy.

That’s why I’ve planned to launch the first of our Magical Activism Online course series. We’ll begin with some history and concepts—what is magic? What is activism? What were the real Witch hunts, and how are they still impacting our sense of what’s possible in the world, and our responses to powerful women?

What’s Included

We’ll learn, or review, some of the basic tools of magic—grounding, anchoring to our core self, awareness of energy states, and the skill of relaxing and getting a good night’s sleep, despite the news! We’ll also begin some work on magical discernment—how can we use our awareness of energy, and states of consciousness, to evaluate what is going on, and intervene effectively?

We’ll end with a short ritual for Brigid’s season, to forge our tools, drink from her Well of Renewal, and make our personal pledge.

This course is open to anyone who wants to learn these skills and tools. My own political perspective is progressive to radical. I’ve had a lifelong commitment to social justice in all its forms, to non-violence, feminism, environmental balance and justice, and undoing all the structures of oppression.

I strongly believe that what we need now is a powerful, welcoming movement for justice in all its forms, one that is truly inclusive of all people, and that generates energy, enthusiasm and joy even in the midst of struggle.
