Light is returning–on this this longest day of the year, we hold vigil as the Goddess labors to bring forth the newborn sun. As Pagans, we embrace the dark, as the place of potential, the womb of gestation, All Possibility.
We do not see light as good, dark as evil–that dualistic metaphor is one of the roots of racism. Instead, we look for balance. Out of Potential must come the light of manifestation. When the time is ripe, the newborn child emerges from the womb.
The Wheel turns, and the sun rises. Which of the thousand sparks of possibility will we cherish and feed this year? Which ember will we blow into flame? Solstice blessings to you all, and whatever holiday you celebrate at this turning of the year, may you be surrounded with joy.
So so so beautiful.
the above picture is so beautiful of the new moon and the setting sun
